Competitors in these events have reaped the benefits of weight training to enhance their performance.Weight training will help to increase local muscle endurance as well as strength endurance.

For road running and cycling lower body weight training will aid performance where as for swimming, upper bodyweight training is suggested, depending on the specific stroke and movement pattern.
